The Roosters environmental makeover is officially underway! We kicked things off by planting our first batch of 80 trees along the brook by the second pitch. 🌳🌿
On March 9th a group of volunteers from an organisation called The Environment Partnership will help to plant 10 cherry trees in front of the fence between Roosters and the Union Club and another 70-80 smaller trees by the side of the second pitch.
Thanks to the amazing folks at City of Trees, this whole transformation isn't costing the Roosters any money, just a whole lot of elbow grease! 💪
If you'd like to get involved in this project or any volunteering at Salford City Roosters, email us.
City of Trees accessed funding for this project from the Nature for Climate Fund. By planting more trees, we're not only fighting climate change but also creating homes for birds, bugs, and all kinds of critters. Plus, trees make the air cleaner and boost our mood. Win-win!
Keep an eye out for more updates and pics on social media as we continue to greenify our space with City of Trees.
Let's make our space the envy of the league! 🌟
Salford City Roosters are based alongside Junction 11 of the M60 in West Manchester. Our ground includes a car park, two playing pitches (one with match-quality floodlights), a grassed training area and a Clubhouse which incorporates changing rooms and a licenced bar with events space.
